Meet Our Experienced Technician Staff

Boyd's Drive Line Service of Stockton

Drivelines are our specialty at our Stockton location. Here we focus on getting jobs back to the customer as quickly as possible, without sacrificing quality.

Cory has more than a decade of driveline experience. He worked at Drive Line Service before it was bought out in 2007, and has strived ever since to maintain our reputation of excellent customer service and incomparable quality. He is one of two employees at this location, juggling customers, invoices, parts, and jobs to ensure every customer gets the dedication they deserve. As he is fond of saying, "We wouldn't be here if not for the customers."

Barry owned and operated the Modesto branch of Driveline Service before coming to Stockton four and a half years ago. With decades of experience under his belt, he is our go-to person for all things ag. There's not much out there that he hasn't seen or worked on. He's known for his easy-going nature, but he'll work hard to get the job done.

Valley Balancing

Ken Boyd is the owner of Valley Balancing and Boyd's Drive Line Service of Stockton. Not one to sit idle, he loves to be in the middle of things even after 40 years. There's a good 80 years of combined engine and engine part experience between him and Steve. Ken handles the majority of driveline quotes including PTO and specialty drivelines.

Steve is out invaluable parts man. With 40 years of experience under his belt, he's our go-to man for those hard-to-find parts. Most quotes are handled by Steve although driveline quotes are divided between him, Ken and Larry.

Driveline Department

Rick is the indispensable head of our driveline department. He has been involved in the automotive industry at Valley Balancing for 26 years. His arsenal of abilities include driveline fabrication, custom machine work, and industrial balancing.

Larry is our multi-talented racing expert and driveshaft machinist. He has raced and been involved in the racing field for the last 40 years. For the last 10 years, he has also been involved in the automotive field doing quotes for customers, building drivelines, and previously ran our Chassis Dyno.

George is our driveline prep go to guy. His responsibilities include inspecting drivelines for repair, gathering parts, and pressing jobs together for the welder and balancer. He keeps our assembly line moving efficiently and expediently.

John is our newly added driveline machinist. He has worked solidly for the past six months in the driveline department, welding and balancing drivelines so we can serve even more customers on a daily basis. He has several years experience in the automotive industry, with a specialization in drivelines.

Andrew is our newly added agricultural balancing expert. We have the machinery to balance in shop, or in-field for those difficult to take apart pieces of equipment. Andrew is willing to travel and meet customer needs.

Engine & Head Department

Gary is our automotive machining specialist. He has been involved in the automotive field for 35 years. He is in charge of boring and honing blocks and rod guides, as well as surfacing flywheels.

Scotty is our engine machinist and main assembler of engines. He has been in the automotive industry for 35 years.

Manuel is our cylinder head specialist. 30 years of automotive experience allow us to provide a broader range of services. He handles our specialty engine work, 3-angle and performance valve jobs, head surfacing and hardening of exhaust seats.

Leo is our all-around engine department machinist. He assists in making the process as smooth as possible, stepping in wherever needed. His main focus is on head work, working alongside Manuel to ensure our standards of quality while improving turn-around time for our customers. A genuine pleasure to work with, he is always willing to learn something new, and excited to help in any way he can.
